The impact of Covid19 continues to evolve across Queensland and the rest of Australia. We remain open for business, by appointment only and we are commited to keeping up to date with the latest safety requirements. 
Our hearts go out to anyone who’s been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly, and we are inspired and very grateful for the selfless healthcare workers who are working tirelessly to care for people in need.

Visiting McCarthy Homes Display Homes

All our Display Homes remain open by appointment only, and we have adopted safe practices to ensure all visits to our homes comply with the Australian Department of Health guidelines, which include:

  • personal hygiene
  • social distancing
  • regular surface cleaning

Alternatively, we are very happy to arrange virtual tours, and meetings via video conference using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype or Facetime etc.

We are Prepared and Ready

At McCarthy Homes we have a robust and comprehensive Business Continuity Plan in place which provides excellent contingency plans that will allow our staff to operate remotely if/when required.

For all our customers who are currently in the construction stage of their new home journey, we are continuing with construction as per each schedule. We have exceptional support from our suppliers and trade partners who have worked with us to conduct rigorous supply chain reviews, and as a result of these audits, we do not foresee any risk of shortages (short to medium term). We will continue to work together to ensure that long term supply is sustained.

Changes to Operations

To help maintain our staff and clients’ health and wellbeing, all office, sales and selection meetings will be offered via email & phone or video conferencing using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype or Facetime or other means.

If you do need to visit our office in-person we would ask that you contact us first and be aware that mandated social distancing rules will need to be maintained if an in-office meeting is agreed upon.

We will be vigilant in our face-to-face interactions with our clients, suppliers and contractors by following advice from the health professionals to apply social distancing and ensure that we adopt good hygiene practices. We would ask that you also follow this advice, and do not attend any sales, office/selections or on-site meetings should you or someone in your family or contact group be unwell. This will help to keep us all safe.

Please observe all guidelines and regulations put in place by the Queensland government during this time. They are the correct resource for determining how operations will continue in the future.

Our Partnership with Susanna Tolo

There’s a good chance you’ve heard of influencer marketing but may not know much about it. We were the same, until we decided to delve into things and see what was out there. When we did, we found Susanna Tolo, and thanks to the fact that we move in similar circles, we instantly clicked.

We invited Susanna to tour our newest display home, Fairhaven, on Sherwood Road. Susanna had some very nice things to say about our display home, which we appreciate, particularly coming from her. We put a lot of effort into the floor plan for this home, and we think the end result is really nice.


Who is Susanna Tolo?

Susanna shot to fame when she documented her complete home makeover on Instagram. She gained a following through her ability to take a smaller budget and make significant changes to her entire home with it.

Susanna is on the record as loving the Hampton look and coastal theme. She completely overhauled the exterior of her home, painting the bricks white and repainting the roof tiles to a soft grey colour, really emphasising out the existing shape of the home but giving it a genuine seaside feel.

Inside, Susanna stripped out the old wallpaper and went with an off-grey colour. Cornices, edges and features were repainted in white. An overhaul of the furniture (done on the same budget) helped bring the entire home together (along with some flooring upgrades).

A couple of fine touches really reinforced what Susanna did with her home. A carefully selected shade of blue for her front door and some updated fixings on the interior really bring out the coastal feel of the home. Today, she continues to share posts about living in her newly renovated home and illustrate how comfortable and refreshing the Hampton style can be to live in.

Fairhaven Display Home Tour

Recently, Susanna Tolo took her Instagram followers through a tour of our Fairhaven display home. It was a great watch, and Susanna touched on all the high points of the property, with plenty of emphasis on our uniquely designed bathrooms (tiles, wall coverings and all), along with the kitchen and ceilings.

It was great to get Susanna’s opinion of the property – particularly as she loved it so much. Of course, so do we. Fairhaven is one of our favourite display homes, and we’ve put together quite a few.

Susanna’s tour of Fairhaven really pulled in a lot of attention on Instagram. With over 115,000 views and nearly 9,000 likes (at the time of writing) it was a great post with some outstanding reach. It was good to see so many people enjoying a beautiful home like Fairhaven, and hopefully seeing a few convert to the Hampton-style home fandom at the same time!

New Audiences

Working with Susanna has allowed us to reach whole new audiences. Previously our typical audience and online engagement was restricted to those who are immediately in the market for a new home or who are familiar with our brand. Susanna, through her own journey of remodelling her home into her personal Hampton-style paradise, has brought the concept of Hampton design to whole new generations.

We have had a great experience having our brand exposed to new audiences of people, particularly Millennials and Generation Z who are showing the same level (if not more) of enjoyment and appreciation that past generations have shown for Hampton-style homes.

We love the Hampton housing style and we think it’s a perfect fit for Queensland. We’d like to see it around a lot more, and we think we will, particularly after Susanna has done such an outstanding job spreading the word.

McCarthy Homes’ sophisticated Affinity Display Home Receives Coveted HIA Award

McCarthy Homes Hampton style custom design is a winner

The Hampton House by McCarthy Homes represents the epitome of elegant custom design. Combining a traditional American Hamptons look and feel, with modern sophistication, the home was specifically customised to suit the coastal position and the accessibility needs of its owners, Wayne and Lisa Patterson.

With Wayne and Lisa seeking a low maintenance design, the McCarthy Homes team selected a more hard wearing option than traditional timber. Working with Sycon Linea boards, they were able to deliver an alternative with the same authentic charm, minus the flaking, swelling and shrinking, and with the added bonus of moisture resistance.

The striking four bedroom house was further customised to incorporate the changing needs of Wayne, who is living with Motor Neurone Disease. With his comfort in mind, the head designers at McCarthy Homes ensured hallways and doors were widened, and a ramp provided internal access from the garage.

In addition, the bathrooms were designed for easy access to showers, and plenty of seating areas were conveniently integrated throughout the home, providing little nooks to take in the picturesque ocean views. Forming the social hub of the home, the spacious open plan living area is also host to a built in day bed, offering Wayne a relaxing space to enjoy the ocean breezes.

Homeowner Lisa said the custom created plans reflected exactly what she had in mind. “After catching up with the McCarthy Homes team to run through the plans, it was as if I had drawn them up myself! They had not only presented plans of my dream home, but a home we had decided would become our forever home. They nailed it first go!”
